Project Airbus A319 Continues to Impress

When Project Airbus released their A319 model, they continued their legacy of producing a highly detailed model of the prime 737 competitor from across the pond.  While some have complained that the lack of virtual cockpit hinders its FSX experience, I continue to see their models as impressive every-time I load one in FS9 and FSX.  

When I saw the US Airways, America West livery by Steve McBee, I began drooling immediately.  This transition livery is a combination of the old the America West NC livery with US Airways titles.  I couldn’t wait to take it on a short flight from Denver International (KDEN) to Sky Harbor (KPHX) to gawk at the new work of art by Steve that adorns the PA A319 model.

Project Airbus releases A319

Today was the day that Project Airbus adds the sister to their awesome A320 model with the release of their Airbus A319 model!  Read the announcement here. Available in two liveries, SAS and Cypress Airways, available from their site or from avsim.

I will post more after I have the chance to take some screenshots and put some virtual jetA fuel through its engines!  I will take a look at FSX compatibility, but their A320 did well, so should the A319.

Project Airbus A319 Goes Beta!

A little late on this one folks, but still well worth the belatedness. Project Airbus has expanded from their A320 with the BETA release of their A319-100. SAS and Cyprus Airways liveries are included. Since this is beta, you must 1) keep all repaints for personal use and 2) give them honest to goodness feedback. If you love it, tell them… if you hate it, tell them, but do it nicely! Please make sure to grab the SAS tail texture fix while in their forums.

Project Airbus A319 liveries previewed!

July 26, 2009: Project Airbus is on a indefinte hiatus and downloads are no longer available.  The A380 has been mothballed.  I am leaving the links to their website active for the time being.

Today, Project Airbus previewed a number of liveries for their upcoming Airbus A319. The paints look spectacular and are located in their Preview forum. I can’t wait to get my dirty little hands on the United livery.

While there is still no virtual cockpit in the works, you can alias the A321 panel is FSX and fly it that way. Their current A320 does quite well in FSX and I am ssooooo looking forward to the A319.
